Maria Scarognina has always been drawn to the world of art and driven by a need to create. She approached glass through a course organized by master glassmaker Alfio Peracino. She later graduated from the professional school Vetroricerca Glas&Modern in Bolzano, and immediately began collaborating with several artisan workshops, including Il Vetro d’Arte by Soheila Dilfanian.
Maria runs an artisan workshop in Sostegno (BI), where she creates jewelry, lamps, and small home décor objects born from the desire to produce unique glass design pieces. In this creative space, she collaborates with artists and craftspeople on specific projects that involve the artistic use of glass through kiln-forming, lead came, and Tiffany techniques. She also collaborates on an ongoing basis with the artist Silvia Levenson at her studio on Lake Maggiore.
An artisan and designer, Maria is deeply passionate about traditional craft techniques while constantly seeking new forms and aesthetics.
