Magnesite is a natural stone composed mainly of magnesium carbonate, valued in jewelry for its light color—typically white or ivory—often marked by grey or beige veining that gives it a marble-like appearance. Used both in its natural state and as a decorative base, it is chosen for its clean, understated look, ideal for contemporary, minimalist or boho-style jewelry. Symbolically, magnesite is traditionally associated with calmness, balance and mental clarity. This stone is supplied as a flat-back cabochon, in round or oval shape, a cut that enhances the natural surface and simplifies setting. As a natural stone, it cannot be fired with Art Clay Silver or Metal Clay and must be cold set after the jewelry piece is completed.
